Job Development Program

The Elijah House Back to Work Program is designed to help formerly incarcerated   men and women struggling to find stable employment in today’s job market, by helping them establish a current job history.

As part of our transitional employment program, we provide an individual assessment and offer wrap-around services such as job development, safety, career exploration, soft skills training and more.

 

To qualify for this opportunity these eligibility requirements must be met:

 

·      Must be currently or formerly on parole or probation

·      Be clean and sober

·      Pass a pre-employment interview

·      Pass drug screening

·      Attend Road Side Safety Training

 

While this is a paid employment position, it is much more than ‘just a job’. It is an opportunity designed to give participants the necessary resources for successful integration back into the workforce after incarceration and help them achieve their long-term employment goals. Participants will be employed as part of our work crew, performing roadside maintenance including litter abatement projects throughout Butte County. Each participant will receive a personal assessment to better understand their individual needs. Each participant will be required to work a maximum of 3-4 days per week, allowing them the time off they need to address their other employment needs and honor other program obligations in order to fulfill the terms of their release.
